Rewarding Brown Nosers

No one purposely promotes and rewards the brown nosers but it happens more then you’d think in organizations. The reason is simple; the brown nosers tend to be the same people who don’t have any problem tooting their own horns around the right people and taking personal credit for projects they weren’t soley responsible for.

The truth is that we’re never going to eliminate brown nosing at work but what we can do is make sure that the people who aren’t outright bragging about their accomplishments are being assessed along side their more vocal counter-parts.

Editors Note: In our new series “Culture Crushers” we’ve paired up with Corporate Toons to bring you real-life examples of things companies do to crush engagement, morale, and culture.

Have you experienced a culture crushing situation? Want it turned into a cartoon? Email CultureCrusher@culturefanatics.com and if your example is selected it will be featured in one of our cartoons.
